Studio portrait of 5683 Private (Pte) Frank Thomson Giblett, 8th Battalion, of Fitzroy, Vic. A labourer prior to enlistment he embarked from Melbourne with the 18th Reinforcements on board HMAT Ayrshire (A33) on 3 July 1916. Pte Giblett served on the Western Front and was killed in action on 14 April 1918, aged 23. He has no known grave and his name is commemorated on the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France.
