Outdoor portrait of 4259 Private (Pte), later Sergeant Lyle Comyn Reeves, 20th Battalion, of Hornsby, NSW. A clerk prior to enlistment he embarked from Sydney with the 10th Reinforcements a board HMAT Berrima (A35) on 19 August 1914. Prior to enlistment in the AIF Pte Reeves served with the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force (AN&MEF). He returned to Australia on 6 September 1919.
