Studio portrait of 3387 Private (Pte) David Lowe, 1st Battalion, of Redfern, NSW. A plumber prior to enlistment he embarked with the 11th Reinforcements aboard HMAT Themistocles on October 1915. Pte Lowe and was killed in action on 13 May 1916 during the Battle of Fromelles, he was 22 years of age. Pte Lowe is buried at Rue-Du-Bois Military Cemetery, Fleurbaix, France.
