Harrison, Mark
Description
Collecting relating to Mark R. Harrison and his offer to sponsor an aircraft for donation to the Australian Military Forces, 1918-1920. Harrison made the offer to donate finances or sponsor an aircraft for purchase by the Australian Military Forces in 1918. The collection consists of two letters sent in response to Harrison's offer: the first, by Minister for Works and Railways, Littleton Groom, in June 1918; and the second by the Chief of the General Staff, Major General James Legge, in April 1920. Harrison is advised of the £3,000 cost of a modern battle plane and is informed that the two are eager to facilitate his donation.
