Studio portrait of 1588 Private (Pte) John James Turner, H Company, 3rd Battalion, of South Dubbo, NSW. A sleeper cutter prior to enlistment he embarked from Sydeney on board HMAT Euripides (A14) on 20 October 1914. Pte Turner was killed in action during the Lone Pine charge on 7 August 1915, he was 21 years of age. Pte Turner has no known grave and his name is recorded on the The Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
