Informal portrait of NX4005 Pte Geoffrey William Andrew, 2/4 Battalion. Pte Andrew of Sydney, NSW, was killed in action at Crete on 20 May 1941, aged 32. Following his death, NX5527 Private (Pte) Jack Wilson sent this photograph to Pte Andrew's mother, writing on the verso "This photo of Dick is a reproduction off the Acropolis photo (see P08877.001). I was with my pal Dick every day. Libia (sic), Greece and Crete included. You should be proud of your son Mrs Andrew". See also P08877.001.
