Collection relating to the First World War service of 1238 Private Theodore Claxton, 32nd Battalion, prisoner of war, 1917.

The collection consists of a letter Claxton wrote from the Friedrichsfeld prisoner of war camp in Germany in March 1917. Writing to a Thomas McGuire, Claxton discusses the winter scenery in the camp, enquires after his brother Maurice who was reported missing in the same action in which Claxton was captured, and briefly recounts his capture during the Battle of Fromelles in July 1916.
