Studio portrait of 1995 Private (Pte) Clarence Rosser (Clarrie) Branerghan, 3rd Light Horse Regiment, of Peterborough, SA. An engine cleaner prior to enlisting in October 1915, Private Branerghan embarked from Adelaide with the 14th Reinforcements on board HMAT Warilda (A69) on 10 February 1916. He was transferred to the 4th Division Ammunition Column, Australian Field Artillery, in Egypt on 21 April 1916 and acquired the rank of Driver (Dvr) in France on 24 May 1916. Dvr Branerghan was killed in action on the Somme, France, on 28 November 1916. He was 19 years of age.
