Studio portrait of 3019 Pte Charles Bostock, 25th (later 47th) Battalion, of Lismore, NSW, son of Charles Bostock, Staffordshire, England. A farmer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Brisbane aboard HMAT Itonus (A50) on 30 December 1915. He was killed in action on 4 December 1916, in France, aged 36. He had previous service in the Boer War with the British Army. He is buried in the Caterpillar Valley Cemetery Longueval, France.
