Studio portrait of 2329 Pte Ernest Allen Allsop, 18th Battalion, of Quirindi, NSW, son of Mrs. Lucy Anderson. A porter prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Themistocles (A32) on 5 October 1915. He was wounded in action in, France on 9 November 1916 and died of wounds next day at 36th Casualty Clearing Station, France, aged 19. He is buried in the Heilly Station Cemetery Mericourt-L'Abbe, France.
