Description
Employees of Government Transport, who were contracted to deliver the Mk IV Female tank, known as 'GRIT', to the Australian War Memorial (AWM) from Canberra railway station. Identified standing at front, third and fourth from left respectively are Government Transport's foreman and his supervisor, Mr Stan 'Cocky' Roach and Mr William Robb. This photograph was taken in the area now known as the Western Courtyard of the AWM, some time prior to the wall in the background being finished in sandstone cladding.
