Description

Research by David Martin on the war service of staff of the South Australian Post, Telegraph and Telephone Department during the First World War.

The research details many aspects of the service of the 323 staff members of the South Australian Post, Telegraph and Telephone Department including their date and order of enlistment, service numbers, ranks, units, decorations and citations, dates of discharge and dates of death and places of burial. The research also details, where possible, the employment details of the men after repatriation, and particularly their places in postal and telegraphic services if they returned to those professions. There is also a physical description of the Honour Roll Boards in the Adelaide General Post Office.

The manuscript provides a full roll of the 323 staff members who served, provides general historical information relating to the First World War and is illustrated throughout.
