Description
The commander of HMAS Sydney, Captain John Augustine Collins escorts a group of dignitaries including Rear Admiral Sir John Crace and the Minister for Industry and member of the War Cabinet, William Morris Hughes, on a tour of the ship which had just returned from a successful campaign in the Mediterranean. The following day her crew were given a welcoming parade in Martin Place and were later feted with a civic reception and luncheon at Sydney Town Hall.
