Studio portrait of 2204 Private (Pte) Robert John Street, 1st Battalion, of Hurstville, NSW. A clerk prior to enlistment he embarked with the 6th Reinforcements from Sydney on board HMAT Karoola (A63) on 16 June 1915. Pte Street was killed in action on 6 August 1915 at Lone Pine, aged 22. He is buried at the Lone Pine Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey.
