Collection relating to the First World War service of 6094 Lance Corporal Peter William Sticker, 1 Battalion, 1916-1921.

Wallet 1 of 1 - Consists of a notebook and discharge certificate relating to Sticker's service with the Australian Imperial Force. The notebook includes detailed notes on the G. L. Gunlight pattern 08/15 light machine gun (such as components, maintenance, and the causes and procedure to rectify stoppages), details on Sticker's eye tests, lists of names and unit numbers of personnel, and grocery and subscription lists written in the years after the First World War. The notebook also includes notes on Sticker's service on the Western Front and in England over the period 17 December 1916 to 5 March 1919. He details his movements, time in and out of the frontlines, training at the Lewis gun school, the destruction in French towns, briefly recounts periods of fighting and coming under shell fire, mentions his wounding and periods of hospitalisation, his leave in London, and his activities following the armistice.
