Studio portrait of VX18464 Sergeant (Sgt) Raymond Henry Lawley, 2/14 Battalion, of Brunswick, Vic. Raymond Lawley was a storeman prior to enlisting in May 1940. He was killed in action during the 21st Brigade's invasion of Syria on 8 June 1941. Sgt Lawley lowered his age at enlistment. His service records state he was 29 years of age when killed, but his actual age was 36.
