Description

Studio portrait of three brothers who all served with 2/7th Field Regiment Royal Australian Artillery, left to right: SX12822 Gunner (Gnr) Henry Daniel Dadds, SX12821 Gnr Frank Dadds, and SX12820 Gnr James Jury Dadds. Gnr Henry Dadds enlisted from Magill, SA, on 17 May 1941. After attaining the rank of Lance Bombardier he returned to Australia and was discharged on 2 January 1946. Gnr Frank Dadds also enlisted from Magill, SA, on 17 May 1941. After attaining the rank of Lance Bombardier he returned to Australia and was discharged on 1 February 1946. Gnr James Jury Dadds, whilst serving in Egypt, died on 1 November 1942, aged 26, of wounds received in action and was buried in the El Alamein War Cemetery.
