Studio portrait of 610 Private (Pte) Albert Walter Lemke, 6th Battalion, of Fairfield, Vic. A labourer prior to enlisting in August 1914, Pte Lemke embarked from Melbourne on board HMAT Hororata (A20) on 19 October 1914. On 25 April 1915, he died of wounds received at the landing on Gallipoli. Pte Lemke was 33 years of age.
