Grave of a number of British airmen plus 404269 Pilot Officer (PO) Gordon Russell Tweedale, RAAF from Brisbane, Queensland in the Kalkara Naval Cemetery, Malta (also known as Capuccini Naval Cemetery). PO Tweedale enlisted on 19 July 1940 and was awarded a Distinguished Flying Medal for outstanding performance as a fighter pilot. He was killed on flying operations over Malta on 9 May 1942 at the age of 24 years.
