recto: Lock at Merck Saint Liévin; verso: Design for 10th Field Ambulance vehicles [page 5]
Description
recto: An ink sketch of a loch in Merck Saint Liévin. A wooden gate sits over the spillway and there is a building in the background. Merck Saint Liévin is a commune in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of France, close to Fauquembergues. It lies about 10 miles southwest of Saint Omer, and the river Aa runs through it. It has an eighteenth century mill and the church of Saint Omer, which dates from the seventeenth century.
verso: A design for a logo for the 10th Field Ambulance vehicles, which consists of a kookaburra sitting on a boomerang, with lettering on the boomerang, set against a brown oval background.
