Studio portrait of the Kappler family of Adelaide, SA. Standing, from left: Victor, Emmanuel, Roy, Percy, 567 Private (Pte) Frederick Berger Kappler, 21st Battalion. Pte Kappler enlisted in January 1915 under the alias of Fred Burgess. He served at Gallipoli and on the Western Front. Pte Kappler was killed in action in France on 17 November 1916, aged 26 years.
