Studio portrait of Midshipman Thomas Garton Brown, RAN. Midshipman Brown enlisted in the RAN on 30 January 1934. Serving as a Lieutenant on HMAS Sydney II, Brown was was killed in action, aged 21, when the ship was sunk in the Indian Ocean by the German auxiliary cruiser Kormoran on 20 November 1941.
