Studio portrait of 4586 Private (Pte) Godfrey George Switzer, 9th Battalion, of Brisbane, Qld. A labourer prior to enlistment he embarked on board HMAT Wandilla (A62) on 31 January 1916. Pte Switzer was killed in action on 1 October 1917. He has no known grave and his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
