Studio portrait of 66 Sergeant (Sgt) Arthur Abraham Jacobs, 10th Battalion. A journalist of Adelaide, SA (originally of London, England), prior to enlistment, he embarked on HMAT Ascanius on 20 October 1914. Sgt Jacobs was killed in action on 7 October 1917; he was aged 23 years.
