Sister Marjorie Cross Yuille, AANS, surrounded by unidentified Australian soldiers as she holds a newly opened Christmas gift. Original caption reads ' Me, with the "gift for my sister" on Xmas Day 1915" '. Sister Yuille, of Brighton, Victoria, enlisted in November 1914 with the Australian Army Nursing Service (AANS), aged 29. She left Australia with the No.1 Australian General Hospital (1 AGH) on HMAT Kyarra. She returned to Australia in 1918, having married Major Henry Hume Turnbull, also of 1 AGH, whilst on service overseas (see P09381.001)
