An Italian submarine being attacked by an aircraft manned by Samuel Woods, RAAF. During the Second World War a variety of different methods, including aerial warfare were used to attack submarines. A range of different aircraft were employed to this purpose, from airships to four-engined aircraft. Attack methods usually involved directly bombing and firing at submarines.
