Studio portrait of 423956 Flying Officer (FO) Charles George Watts, No. 13 Squadron, RAAF, his wife Ruth, daughter Patricia (Patsy) and son Philip. FO Watts was a Clerk of Petty Sessions prior to enlisting in July 1942. He was killed in an aircraft accident on 27 January 1945 when Ventura A59-84 crashed attempting to land at Gould Strip, Batchelor NT. FO Watts was 33 years of age. Mrs Watts is wearing an RAAF version of the sweetheart brooch; a commercially produced badge often worn by female relatives, wives or girlfriends of enlisted men.
