Studio portrait of 3759 Corporal Norman Stanley Bathurst Fairbairn, 13th Battalion, of Bathurst, NSW. A fettler in civilian life, Fairbairne enlisted as a Private, he embarked with the 12th Reinforcements on HMAT Suevic (A29) on 20 December 1915. Fairbairn was promoted to Corporal (Cpl) on 16 July 1917. He was killed in action at Hamel, Fance on 4 July 1918, aged 27. Cpl Fairbairn is buried at the Villers-Bretonneux Military Cemetery, Fouilloy, France.
