Collection relating to the Darwin Commemoration Association. The Darwin Commemoration Association was founded in 1967 for the purpose of organising a commemoration for the 25th anniversary of the first air raid of Darwin in 1942. Collection consist of: the Association's purpose, constitution and a note about forming; Membership lists for 1967-1969, 1970, 2006, list of members transferred to Darwin, 1942-45 inc; Lists of all member for records available; two member attendance list books 1977-2000 and 2000-2007; Minutes which cover the period 1979-2007; correspondence from various state offices and other associations written between 1980-2007. The collection also consists of other various items including: 'they said it couldn't be done' by Gary Punch, program for 'Federation Frontline', remembrance and wreath laying service program conducted by the Eighth Australian Division Association; Paper on the 50th memorial year to North Australia's war and commemoration of the bombing of Darwin; Index to the Darwin commemorative wall quilt by Tony Suttor, East point military museum 1942 bombing of Darwin journal; Official cenotaph program commemorating the 60th anniversary of the bombing Darwin; Darwin Commemoration Association, newsletters 5,7,10 and 20-43, papers and programs relating to the service held by the association ranging between 1989-2003. Also included is the personal memoir of NX89059 Arthur 'Jack' Fisher entitled 'Digger of Darwin 42', an article by David Davis with photos; an article called 'Personal Recollections of the Bombing of Darwin 1942' and various photographs relating to the association; The memoir 'Recollections - Darwin 1942' By Norma Reedy and correspondence relating to the ownership of the memoir.
