Studio portrait of 1150 Pte (later Cpl) Percy James Blackmore, 20th Battalion, of Cambridge, England, son of the late James Blackmore, and Louisa Matilda Board (formerly Blackmore), of Carlisle, England. A warehouseman prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Berrima (A35) on 25 June 1915. He was killed in action on 27 July 1916 at Pozieres, France, aged 27. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
