Studio portrait of NX12523 Lieutenant (Lt) Walter Donald Cridland, 8th Survey Battery, Royal Australian Artillery, of Cronulla, NSW. Lt Cridland was promoted to the rank of Captain in 1944. On 27 June 1945 he died of wounds at Brunei Bay, Borneo, aged 44.
