Collection relating to the Second World War service of NX34829 Lieutenant Colonel Leslie James Austin Byrne. Collection consists of materials relating to Byrne's testimony relating to post-Second World War war crimes trials of Japanese commanders, and includes a hand-written draft of Byrne's affadavit relating to conditions on the Wales Maru, a prisoner-of-war transport ship and its commander Tanaka, and official documents from Major A L Nyman of Eastern Command.
