Studio portrait of 2900 Private (Pte) Frederick William White, 6th Battalion, of Abbotsford, Vic. A liftman prior to enlisting in June 1915, Pte White embarked from Melbourne with the 9th Reinforcements on board HMAT Star of Victoria (A16) on 10 September 1915. He was killed in action at Pozieres, France, on 26 July 1916. Pte White was 20 years of age.
