Studio portrait of 7533 Private (Pte) John Lawson Oswald, 10th Battalion, of Grange, SA. A journalist prior to enlisting in August 1917, Pte Oswald embarked from Melbourne with the 25th Reinforcements on board HMAT Aeneas (A60) on 30 October 1917. He was killed in action at Merris, France, on 28 June 1918. Pte Oswald was 20 years of age.
