Studio portrait of 2nd Lieutenant (2nd Lt) William Buchanan Kerr, 16th Battalion, of Adelaide, SA. An insurance broker prior to enlisting in September 1914, 2nd Lt Kerr embarked from Melbourne on board HMAT Ceramic (A40) on 22 December 1914. He was killed in action at Gallipoli on 2 May 1915. 2nd Lt Kerr was 21 years of age.
