Studio portrait of 5419 Private (Pte) Alan Campbell Noble, 10th Battalion, of Grange, SA. A mason prior to enlisting in February 1916, Pte Noble embarked from Adelaide with the 17th Reinforcements, onboard HMAT Aeneas (A60) on 11 April 1916. On 9 May 1917 he died of wounds received in action at Bapaume, France. Pte Noble was 20 years of age. His brother 4754 Pte George Franklin Noble, 8th Field Ambulance, died in England of sickness on 13 November 1918.
