Studio portrait of 20044 Sergeant (Sgt) George Robert Harrison, 8th Field Artillery Brigade, of Henley Beach SA. A horticulturalist prior to enlisting in August 1915, Harrison embarked from Melbourne with the 31st Battery on board HMAT Medic (A7) on 20 May 1916. He was promoted to Corporal in November 1915 and to Sergeant (Sgt) in April 1916. Sgt Harrison was killed in action at Passchendaele, Belgium, on 20 October 1917. He was 21 years of age.
