Studio portrait of 2229 Private (Pte) David Stewart, 20th Battalion. He embarked from Sydney on HMAT Argyllshire (A8) on 30 November 1915. He was wounded in action, with gunshot wounds to the neck, arm and leg, in France on 5 June 1916. Pte Stewart returned to Australia on 26 September 1916.
