Signet ring portrait of 1159 Lance Corporal Harold Kay, 36th Battalion AIF. A plumber from Barnsley in Yorkshire, England, L Cpl Kay enlisted from Boolaroo in NSW and was killed in action on 12 October 1917. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial in Belgium. He was 21. The print is housed in a white gold signet ring of unknown origin and the print, 8mm in diameter, is one of the smallest individual portraits in the Memorial's collection.
