Studio portrait of NX161677 Warrant Officer Class 1 (WO1) John Selden Higman, Headquarters Signals 19 Lines of Communication, of Scone, NSW. Higman was an accountant prior to enlisting in March 1943. He was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal in May 1942 , Sergeant in April 1944 and Warrant Officer in September 1944. WO Higman served in New Guinea from June 1945 and was killed there in a road accident on 24 July 1945. He was 36 years of age.
