Studio portrait of 3034 Private (Pte) Arthur Edmond (Scotty) Brooks, 27th Battalion, of Jamestown, SA. A chaff merchant prior to enlisting in August 1915, Pte Brooks embarked from Adelaide with the 7th Reinforcements on board HMAT Medic (A7) on 12 January 1916. He was transferred to the 32nd Battalion in April 1916 and arrived in France for service on the Western Front on 23 June 1916. Pte Brooks was killed in action in France on 20 July 1916.
