Studio portrait of 442 Private (Pte) Archibald Sydney Richard James Bellinger, 32nd Battalion. A farmer from Furner, South Australia, prior to enlistment, he embarked from Adelaide aboard HMAT Geelong on 18 November 1915 for Suez. His battalion relocated to the Western Front, France, during June 1916. Pte Bellinger was wounded in action on 19 July 1916 during the Battle of Fromelles and died of these wounds the following day. He was aged 33 years.
