Studio portrait of 412636 Pilot Officer (PO) Kenneth Archibald McIver, No. 467 Squadron, RAAF, of Merriwagga, NSW. He was a contractor prior to enlisting in the RAAF. In July 1941, he was offered a commission. In April 1942 was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. On 3 October 1943, PO McIver was piloting Lancaster ED 530 on a return from operations over Munich. The aircraft ran short of fuel and crashed at sea off the coast of England. PO McIver and five others onboard were killed. He was 24 years of age.
