Studio portrait of 3356 Private (Pte) Arthur Whitehead, 32nd Battalion, of Mt Gambier, SA. Formerly a labourer, Pte Whitehead enlisted on 20 March 1916 and as a member of the 7th Reinforcements he embarked from Adelaide aboard HMAT Malakuta (A57) on 27 June 1916. He served on the Western Front where he was killed in action on 28 August 1918 aged 20 years. (See also P09098.001)
