Description
Outdoor portrait of 4269 Lieutenant (Lt) Donald Henry Pickup, 13th Battalion, beside a "Dinkum oil for today" sign at a YMCA centre. Lt Pickup, of Manly, NSW, was a salesman prior to enlistment as a Private on 10 August 1915. He embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT (A60) Aeneas on 20 December 1915 with the 13th Reinforcements. He was promoted to Lieutenant on 2 April 1919 and returned to Australia on 23 July 1919.
