Studio portrait of 4520 Private (Pte) Thomas Leslie Davies, 32nd Battalion. A farmer from Lameroo, South Australia, prior to enlistment, he embarked with the 12th Reinforcements from Adelaide on 16 December 1916 aboard HMAT Berrima (A35) for Devonport, England. Two weeks after arrival Pte Davies was admitted to hospital with pneumonia and died of this illness five days later on 7 March 1917. He was aged 20 years.
