Studio portrait of 2nd Lieutenant (2nd Lt) Thomas Henry Martin, 21st Battalion, of Harrietville, Vic. A clerk prior to enlisting in June 1915, Martin embarked from Melbourne with the 11th Reinforcements on board RMS Orontes on 29 March 1916. He was killed in action at Pozieres, France, on 26 August 1916. 2nd Lt Martin was 27 years of age.
