Studio portrait of 3780 Private (Pte) Leslie McNeil Carraill, 32nd Battalion, of Tungkillo, SA. Pte Leslie Carraill enlisted on 31 May 1916 and embarked from Adelaide aboard HMAT Commonwealth on 21 September 1916. He was killed in action on 3 September 1918 in France, aged 21 years. Pte Leslie Carrail had two older brothers Stanley and Alexander who served with the AIF and were killed in action. He was the third of three brothers to enlist and the last brother to be killed.
