Studio portrait of 2738 Private (Pte) Frank Kinmont Taylor, 32nd Battalion. A bank clerk from Mile End, South Australia, prior to enlistment, he embarked with the 5th Reinforcements from Adelaide on 25 March 1916 aboard HMAT Shropshire for Suez. The battalion relocated to the Western Front, France, during June 1916. In mid November 1916 he was detached to the Assistant Provost Marshall in 5th Division. On 8 February 1917 Pte Taylor was accidentally injured and was hospitalised with a fractured jaw, evacuated to England for treatment and recuperation and did not rejoin his battalion until 3 June 1918. Pte Taylor was killed in action near Amiens, France, on 24 June 1918. He was aged 23 years.
