Studio portrait of 7492 Private (Pte) Ernest Roger Kelly. A Farmer of North Fremantle, WA, with three weeks service in the Citizen's Military Force (CMF), Kelly enlisted on 25 January 1917. He embarked from Fremantle with the 25th Reinforcement of the 16th Battalion on board HMAT Borda (A30) on 29 June 1917, and on 15 December 1917 he joined the 44th Battalion. Pte Kelly was killed in action on 4 July 1918, aged 23. He has no known grave and is commemorated as part of the Australian War Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, France.
